The Bafana Bafana squad that is currently doing duty in Gqeberha is focused on bringing smiles to the nation of South Africa. According to striker Kagiso Malinga, the results that come from the COSAFA Cup are not for their personal benefits but for the nation.
“Its not for us now. Its for the nation, as things are happening, we just need to put smiles on the nation’s face. Everything we do we are doing it for the nation,” Malinga told Romy Titus as the team prepared for their third match at the 2021 COSAFA Cup.
Malinga scored the winner in the victory against Botswana and the 26-year old says it a bitter-sweet moment because his mother is a Motswana but the family was happy for him.
“They knew I am going to represent them well,” noted Malinga.
South Africa sit on six points after two games and are in a good position to make it to the semi-finals from a Group A that includes defending champions Zambia, Eswatini, Lesotho and Botswana.
“We just want to make them happy and win this tournament,” the Moroka Swallows hitman promised.
