While they are viewed as massive underdogs in the first match that he will be presiding over as the official head coach, Stuart Baxter believes football will be on Kaizer Chiefs’ side when they play in the CAF Champions League final on Saturday.
“We are underdogs in most people’s eyes but in my knowledge of football, things don’t always turn out the way they are supposed to,” said the returning Baxter.
Aurthur Zwane has been on the touchline for the Mighty Amakhosi for their incredible journey to the final while Baxter was sorting out the necessary paperwork for him to be officially in charge. The Scotsman has been shouting instructions and encouragement from the stands in the last couple of games.
Livewire attacker, Khama Billiat has also returned to the Kaizer Chiefs matchday setup and will certainly play a part in Baxter’s quest for gold in Morocco.
“We have a game plan that, I believe will turn out for us. We believe we can get a good result,” explained Baxter at the pre-match media briefing.
Kaizer Chiefs have been carried into the final by some courageous defensive performances with all three of their goalkeepers being outstanding. One more performance is required.
