Kaizer Chiefs’ intentions of going back to the top of the South Africa football mountain have been re-affirmed with the announcement of a seventh addition to the Amakhosi squad.
28-year old Thabani Dube has signed a three-year contract with the Glamour Boys of Soweto. The defender, who was part of the COSAFA Cup-winning squad, was formerly with GladAfrica Championship side Richards Bay.
“We would like to confirm the signing of Thabani Austin Dube. The central defender joins Amakhosi from Richards Bay United on a 3-year contract with a further 2-year option,” Kaizer Chiefs wrote on the club’s social media pages.
The announcement was not preceded by the usual show-stopping ‘Breaking News’ but it was naturally followed by Kaizer Chiefs trending on Twitter.
The Soweto giants have already added Brandon Peterson, Sifiso Hlanti, Phathutshedzo Nange, Njabulo Ngcobo, Sibusiso Mabiliso, and Kgaogelo Sekgota to the Stuart Baxter-coached squad. Given Thibedi was recalled from his loan spell.
