World football governing body FIFA has unveiled an additional supporter ticket sales phase, giving fans of participating nations a chance to sit together and create a vibrant matchday atmosphere at the world’s biggest sporting event.
Ticket prices in this supporter phase will start from $60, with sales running until 13 January 2026. As with previous tournaments, tickets requested during this period will be allocated via a lottery system, ensuring fair access for supporters across all qualified nations.
This phase is designed specifically for fans of participating teams, allowing them to purchase tickets in dedicated supporter sections. For South African supporters, it presents an opportunity to recreate the famous Bafana Bafana atmosphere seen during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, bringing colour, noise and energy to the stands.
How South African Fans Can Apply
Supporters wishing to take part must first create a FIFA ID, which is mandatory for all ticket purchases. The South African Football Association (SAFA) will then provide official Access Codes to eligible fans who hold both a FIFA ID and a valid South African passport.
Using the SAFA Fan Code, supporters can apply for tickets via FIFA’s official ticketing platform. Each code allows the purchase of up to four tickets per group-stage match. Fans may also apply for tickets in the knockout rounds, should Bafana Bafana progress further in the tournament. If South Africa are eliminated, any allocated tickets will be refunded by FIFA.
After the application window closes on 13 January 2026, fans will be informed of their ticket allocation through the FIFA lottery system. Successful applicants must complete payment by 2 February 2026 to secure their seats.
Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos, the players and technical staff have all expressed their excitement at the prospect of seeing South African supporters in full voice, whether travelling from home or based abroad, as the team competes in Mexico City, Atlanta and Monterrey during the group stages.
