Women’s football in Uganda has received a significant boost after clubs in the Finance Trust Bank FUFA Women Super League were handed new medical and technical equipment under the FIFA League Development Programme.

The official handover took place at the FUFA Complex in Mengo, where FUFA 2nd Vice President, Dr. Taibu Azah, presided over the ceremony. He was joined by Executive Committee member Agnes Mugena, Competitions Director Hajjat Aisha Nalule, Football Development Director Mutyaba Bashir, and Mass Football Manager Joan Namusisi.

A Step Forward for Women’s Game

The new equipment package is designed to strengthen both the professional standards and safety of the women’s game in Uganda.

Medical supplies provided included:

  • Medical stretchers
  • Fully stocked medical bags
  • Ice boxes and ice packs

Technical equipment provided included:

  • Class and field tactical boards
  • Markers, cones, PVC poles and hurdles
  • Branded bibs

Additionally, each club received 20 Category 1 Zakayo match balls for the 2025/26 season, part of FUFA’s wider reforms aimed at enhancing the quality of competitions across the country.

FUFA’s Commitment to Growth

FUFA officials emphasised that the support reflects both FUFA’s and FIFA’s commitment to raising the level of the women’s game, ensuring that players and clubs have access to the tools necessary for development and success.

By equipping clubs with proper medical and technical resources, FUFA hopes to not only improve match-day standards but also enhance player welfare, tactical preparation, and training efficiency.
