Nwabali Joins Super Eagles Camp Ahead of Madagascar Test
Stanley Nwabali has joined the Super Eagles camp in Uyo as Nigeria step up preparations for their opening 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Madagascar.
The Chippa United goalkeeper’s arrival takes the number of players currently in camp to 21, with head coach Eric Chelle continuing preparations for Friday’s Group L encounter at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
Nwabali is one of three goalkeepers selected for Nigeria’s upcoming qualifiers, alongside Maduka Okoye and Arthur Okonkwo.
The goalkeeper’s arrival adds further depth to Chelle’s squad as the Super Eagles prepare to begin their campaign on home soil.
Three players still expected
Nigeria’s 24-man squad is not yet complete, with captain Wilfred Ndidi, Samuel Chukwueze and goalkeeper Maduka Okoye still expected to join the camp.

Chelle has been overseeing preparations in Akwa Ibom as Nigeria build towards a crucial opening fixture against Madagascar.
The Super Eagles will host the Barea on Friday, September 25, before travelling to face Guinea-Bissau on September 29.
With the first two qualification matches coming within four days of each other, Chelle will be looking for a strong start as Nigeria begin their journey towards the 2027 AFCON finals.
