BAL and PUMA Announce Multi-Year Partnership Ahead of 2026 Season

The Basketball Africa League (BAL) has unveiled a major new partnership with global sports brand PUMA, confirming a multi-year collaboration that will see the German company become the Official Outfitter of the league.

The agreement will come into effect with the 2026 BAL season, which tips off on 27 March at the SunBet Arena.

PUMA to Kit Out BAL Teams and Fans

As part of the partnership, PUMA will supply official apparel across the league, including match kits, training gear, warm-ups, accessories and referee uniforms. The deal also extends to clothing for BAL’s community and player development programmes.

Fans will also benefit, with a new range of BAL-inspired merchandise reflecting the energy and culture of African basketball set to be available both in arenas and online.

Expanding the Game Across Africa

BAL President Amadou Gallo Fall described the partnership as a major step forward for the league’s growth.

“This collaboration reflects our shared commitment to elevating African basketball. PUMA’s innovation and strong connection to the continent make them an ideal partner as we continue to grow the game,” he said.

PUMA Vice President Johan Adamsson echoed those sentiments, highlighting the brand’s ambition to expand its footprint in global basketball.

“This partnership is an important step in our commitment to growing the game worldwide. We’re excited to bring our performance technology to the BAL and connect with its passionate fanbase,” he said.

Growing Commercial Strength

PUMA joins an expanding list of BAL partners, including the Rwanda Development Board, Afreximbank, Air Senegal, Amazon Web Services, Castle Lite and RwandAir.

Tickets Now Available

Tickets for the upcoming season are already on sale, with fans able to attend games across different conference stages, including fixtures in South Africa and Morocco.

Supporters who purchase tickets will also gain free access to the BAL Fan Zone, enhancing the overall matchday experience.


With the 2026 season fast approaching, the BAL continues to grow both on and off the court, with this latest partnership underlining its ambition to become a major force in global basketball.
