The past two days of Betway Premiership action delivered a mix of tactical battles, late drama and a spectacular breakthrough moment.
At FNB Stadium, Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns could not be separated in a 0-0 draw that preserved both sides’ unbeaten starts. The champions dominated possession, but Chiefs carried more bite on the break, forcing Ronwen Williams into key saves. Brandon Petersen stood firm at the other end to ensure Amakhosi walked away with a valuable point.
Chiefs coach, Nasiredine Nabi thought the blockbuster was there for the taking.
“We had our chances to win it, but I can’t fault the players’ intensity,” the Tinisian told media after the game.
Sundowns’ Miguel Cardoso praised his side’s control but conceded, “We didn’t create enough in the final third.”
Elsewhere, Golden Arrows stunned Magesi FC 2-1 with a stoppage-time winner from Nqobeko Dlamini at King Zwelithini Stadium. Mcedi Vandala and Sede Dion had given each side a goal early on. Dlamini’s composed strike propelled Arrows into the top five.

Sekhukhune United dropped points for the first time this season after being held 1-1 by AmaZulu in Limpopo. Usuthu struck first through Thando Ngwenya but were pegged back late by Maarman. AmaZulu finished with 10 men after captain Riaan Hanamub’s red card.
Orlando Pirates also added to the drama with a grinding 1-0 home win over Orbit College. It took a thunderous volley from 21-year-old Lebone Seema to separate the sides. This gave the Buccaneers their second league win of the campaign and keeps the newcomers hovering above the relegation zone.
