CAF Steps Up Preparations For CHAN 2022

The Confederation of African Football, CAF has stepped up preparations for CHAN 2022. The African Nations Championships are set for Algeria next year. A CAF delegation is currently in Algeria to inspect facilities ahead of the January tournament.

Algeria is also slated to host the 2023 U17 Africa Cup of Nations. CAF vice-president, Seidou Mbombo Njoya and CAF Executive Committee member, Moses Magogo are leading the delegation that will report back on the readiness of Algeria to host the two tournaments.

“We have noted the commitment demonstrated by the Algerian Football Federation leadership and the investment done by the government on infrastructure. One of our key objectives here is to also ensure that the stadiums will have world class pitches. We are also inspecting other facilities that will be used by the teams and the CAF family during the two competitions,” said Mbombo Njoya.

The president of the Algeria Football Federation (FAF), Charaf-Eddine Amara, Mr. Oukali Rachid, president of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) and Dr. Benhamza Yacine, president of the LOC of the U17 Africa Cup of Nations accompanied the CAF dignitaries.

Mbombo Njoya and his entourage visited Annaba, Constantine, Oran and Algiers.
