Kaizer Chiefs FC has shown intent to turn things around at Natuerena with two good signings ahead of the 2022/3 DSTV Premiership season. The double deal comes on the heels of Aurthur Zwane being announced as the permanent head coach.

Zitha Kwinika

Attacking midfielder Ashley Du Preez and centre-back Zitha Kwinika will be joining The Phefeni Glamour Boys from the 1st of July after a deal was concluded with Stellenbosch FC.

“I’m grateful to Stellenbosch, especially coach Steve Barker, Rob Benadie but importantly my teammates. They helped me become a better player, so I am quite grateful to the team and everyone involved in the backroom staff,” Kwinika said in a statement from the club.

Du Preez is one of the top talents in the DSTV Premiership at the moment with his ability to create and score goals.

“It’s never an easy decision leaving a club like Stellenbosch, a town that’s given me so much, a community that’s given me so much. I want to thank the community for supporting me through thick and thin,” said Du Preez on the move to Johannesburg.

More players are expected to join Kaizer Chiefs as Aurthur Zwane tries to reclaim the club’s former glory. It is inevitable that some will be saying goodbye to the most supported club in South Africa as the winds of change blow across Natuerena in the coming months.
