Lutalo Loses Uganda Coaching Job
George Lutalo, Edward Kaziba, James Magala, Arthur Kyesimira, Prossy Nalwadda, and Paul Ssali are no longer employed by Uganda’s football association, FUFA. As head coach, Lutalo lead the Uganda national team to the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations that was held in Morocco.
The decision was taken at last week’s FUFA Executive Committee and was part of a bevvy of resolutions passed by the custodians of Ugandan football.
“The FUFA Executive Committee declared that the positions of the technical team of Crested Cranes have fallen vacant following the completion of their assignment for which they were appointed that ended with the WAFCON Finals in Morocco. FUFA will declare as and when the application process for the vacant positions starts,” the statement reads.
It would mean that FUFA does not deem it necessary to have a full-time coach for the Crested Cranes at this point in time. Lutalo won seven of the thirteen games he was in charge of the national, and he won the CACAFA Women’s Championship held in Uganda. This is not a record of a coach who gets sacked for not delivering results.
With FUFA announcing that it will open an application process, Lutalo and his technical team will have to apply for jobs they successfully executed over the past year.
