Orlando Pirates confirm the departure of Fortune Makaringe
As the inevitable movement of players begins, Orlando Pirates FC has confirmed the departure of midfielder Fortune Makaringe. A short club statement thanked Makaringe for his services after arriving from Maritzburg United four seasons ago.
“Words cannot fully express our gratitude and appreciation for Makaringe. Throughout his time with us, he consistently demonstrated exceptional professionalism and discipline. The Club will always be grateful for his contribution and wishes him nothing but the best in his future endeavours,” part of the release stated.
Makaringe made 140 appearances for Orlando Pirates but he has been seeing less game time under coach Jose Riviero this season. At 31 years, Makaringe surely feels he has a lot to contribute to a football club than substitute appearances.
Also jumping off the Bucs ship is Cameroonian forward Souaibou Marou, who has made very little impact since joining at the beginning of the season.
