Newly appointed Uganda Cranes coach, Paul Put has promised to set the national team straight. Put has promised Ugandans they will see a new team under his, if he is given time.
“Give me time, have confidence in me. I promise you will see a different team,” said Put after he was announced as the man to lead Uganda’s quest to be at the FIFA 2026 World Cup.
Uganda football authorities allowed Put to bring part of the backroom staff from his native Belgium.
“This time, we have allowed the coach to appoint his own backroom staff and he is coming with five other people from Belgium. However, there will be Ugandans who will work as part of the backroom staff,” FUFA president Moses Magogo explained at the unveiling event.
Put’s Belgian contigent consists of:
Sven De Wilde- Performance Manager
Mathieu Denis- Physical Fitness Coach
Gery Osste- Goalkeeping Coach
Martin Michiel- Physiotherapist
Jelle Sevenhant- Video analyst
