Supersport United coach, Gavin Hunt is on the prowl for some serious silverware judging by the number and quality of signings the club has made. Matsatsantsa A Pitori, as Supersport United is commonly known, have added Zimbabwean Terrence Dzvukamanja to the squad that will also be competing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
Dzvukamanja was an important squad member at Orlando Pirates, scoring crucial goals as the Soweto giants annexed two trophies last season. He joins seven other menacing signings, including loanee Etiosa Ighodaro, Abdulrazack Mohamed Hamza, Grant Margeman, Siphesihle Ndlovu, Washington Arubi, Phathutshedzo Nange, and Ronald Pfumbidzai.
Gavin Hunt remains the only coach to have broken Mamelodi Sundowns’ stranglehold on the Premier Soccer League with a league truimph when he was at the now defunct Bidvet Wits. Dzvukamanja was part of that Wits squad.
“I know him very well as I have signed him before. He is a versatile top player and can play in multiple positions, which is what we need. We are happy to have him, he is a good goal scorer and can also play in areas that you need a player.” said Hunt about Dzvukamanja.
It is unclear whether Supersport United will make more signings before the league kicks off on the 4th of August, but with such signings, other clubs are duly warned.
