Volcano De Moroni Disqualified From Champions League
Volcano De Moroni has officially been disqualified from the 2022/3 CAF Champions League season. The Comoros league champions failed to fulfill their away game against Le Passe FC in Seychelles.
According to a statement released by the Confederation of African Football, CAF, Le Passe is through to the 2nd preliminary round of this year’s competition.
“It is the duty of the visiting team to organize its travel arrangements in a way that permits it to arrive in the venue of the match at a reasonable time ahead of the scheduled date of the match,” read the statement released by CAF.
Le Passe’s reward for Volcano de Moroni’s no-show is a date with 2016 champions, Mamelodi Sundowns. the 1st leg is scheduled for the 7th of October in Seychelles with the return leg set for South Africa seven days later.
