DR Congo and Morocco remain in the hunt as Zambia’s journey ends
Two second-half headers from Jephté Kitambala and substitute Jonathan Mokonzi were enough for the Democratic Republic of Congo to remain firmly in the hunt at CHAN 2024. Morocco also bounced back with a 3-1 win over a weak Zambia.
Âgée Basiala was the catalyst for DR Congo with pinpoint deliveries into the Angola box. The second goal came as the Angolans were pouring forward in search of an equaliser. The result sets up an enthralling encounter against Morocco in the last group matches.

Mohamed Hrimat, Oussama Lamlaoui, and Sabir Bougrine all found the back of the net as Morocco roared past Zambia. It was a walk in the savanna for the Atlas Lions as Zambia offered weak resistance. Chipolopolo booked themselves early tickets back home after a forgettable CHAN campaign. Substitute Andrew Phiri’s goal is the only scant consolation for Avram Grant’s side.
