Young Buffaloes kept their semifinal hopes alive with a commanding 3-1 win over debutants Kick4Life Women in Group B of the CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifiers in Johannesburg on Tuesday, while Costa do Sol and Olympic de Moroni battled to a thrilling 2-2 draw in Group C.
The Lesotho side struck first through Nteboheleng Mohoshela after just 10 minutes, but the Eswatini champions turned the tide. Nonjabuliso Mokgale levelled before halftime, and in the second half Buffaloes pulled away — first via a deflected Celiwe Nkambule cross that went in off Matseliso Mosala, then a long-range stunner from Nomvuyo Dvuba.
Gaborone United now need just a point against Kick4Life on Wednesday to secure top spot in Group B, while Buffaloes must hope the debutants cause an upset to sneak through on goal difference.
In Group C, Costa do Sol fought back from two goals down against Olympic de Moroni. The Comoros side went ahead through an own goal before Anllaouia Ali capitalised on a goalkeeper blunder to double the lead. But Joana Mussuie forced one back before Lucia Moçambique’s free-kick salvaged a draw that keeps Costa do Sol top with four points. Olympic de Moroni still have a shot at progress when they meet Herentals Queens, who themselves could qualify as best runner-up with a big win.

Group A remains in the balance, though favourites Mamelodi Sundowns have already underlined their pedigree with two straight wins. The defending champions face Beauties FC on Tuesday, needing victory for a flawless group stage campaign. Beauties, level on points with Zesco Ndola Girls, will be desperate to cause an upset and keep their dream alive. Zesco, meanwhile, face Ntopwa of Malawi knowing three points could seal their place in the last four.
With semifinal spots still undecided across all three groups, Wednesday’s fixtures promise drama as clubs chase the coveted COSAFA ticket to the continental finals later this year.
