adidas Returns Home: SAFA Seals Landmark Three-Year Deal with Global Sports Giant
The South African Football Association (SAFA) has announced a major three-year partnership with adidas, marking the return of the global sportswear powerhouse as the official technical sponsor of South Africa’s national football teams.
The deal rekindles a relationship steeped in history and pride — one that evokes memories of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™, when adidas helped dress South Africa for its moment on the world stage. Fifteen years later, the iconic Three Stripes are back to help shape a new era of South African football excellence.
With Bafana Bafana heading to the 2026 FIFA World Cup™ and Banyana Banyana continuing to rise as one of Africa’s leading women’s teams, this partnership signals a bold statement of intent: South African football is ready to inspire once again.
“This partnership is more than a sponsorship — it’s a return to shared values of pride, resilience, and performance,” said SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao. “adidas has long been part of our football story, and together we’ll inspire South Africans everywhere to believe that they’ve got what it takes.”
She added that the collaboration strengthens SAFA’s international standing, aligning the association with a brand synonymous with innovation, style, and high-performance sport.
adidas, known for outfitting football giants across the world, said the partnership represents both a celebration and a continuation of South Africa’s football legacy.
“Football has the power to change lives whilst uniting and inspiring,” said Sam Handy, VP of Product and Design at adidas Football. “We’re proud to again stand alongside Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana, and the other SAFA teams as they represent the spirit of South Africa on the international stage.”
Fans can expect to see the new adidas-designed kits from 24 March 2026, covering match wear, training gear, travel apparel, and a full fan collection — all bearing the unmistakable Three Stripes that once again symbolize unity, pride, and belief.
The message behind the collaboration echoes adidas’ current global campaign: “You Got This.”
A fitting mantra for a nation ready to rise once more.
