The 130th edition of the Hollywoodbets Durban July is set to deliver more than just world-class horse racing, with Grammy Award-winning artist Zakes Bantwini confirmed as the headline act for the highly anticipated event on Saturday, 4 July 2026.
Taking centre stage at the Pulse Big Stage, the Durban-born superstar will lead an impressive entertainment line-up that promises to add even more excitement to Africa’s premier horse racing and lifestyle event at Hollywoodbets Greyville Racecourse.
Bantwini, widely celebrated for his global success and electrifying performances, expressed his excitement about performing in front of his home crowd.
“KZN, it’s always good to be home! I’ve got something special prepared for you at the Hollywoodbets Durban July. It’s going to be a great one, hope to see you all there!” he said.

Fan-favourite trio Mi Casa, known for their chart-topping albums and energetic live performances, are thrilled to be returning to the iconic event.

Emerging talents Will Rayz, Will Linley and Angel Mazibuko are also expected to bring fresh energy to the stage, while veteran performers Supreme 3 will entertain fans with their signature Motown-inspired sounds.
Meanwhile, Tamara Dey is preparing a unique performance inspired by this year’s theme.

Celebrating ‘Country Allure’
This year’s Hollywoodbets Durban July theme, “Country Allure,” invites racegoers, designers and fashion enthusiasts to draw inspiration from South Africa’s breathtaking rural landscapes and the timeless elegance of equestrian culture.
The theme is expected to spark bold fashion statements and creative interpretations as thousands descend on Durban for one of the country’s biggest sporting and social occasions.
More Than Just Horse Racing
The announcement of Bantwini as headline performer follows confirmation that singer and actress Anlia Etzebeth will perform the South African national anthem before the main race.
With a combination of elite horse racing, world-class entertainment, high fashion and a vibrant social atmosphere, the 2026 Hollywoodbets Durban July is shaping up to be one of the most memorable editions in its history.
Tickets for general admission, picnic sites, VIP hospitality packages and parking are currently available through Ticketpro, with thousands expected to attend the landmark celebration at Greyville Racecourse.
