Nabukenya equalised after the interval before Shakirah Nyinagahirwa put Kawempe ahead.
AS FAR responded with a penalty to restore parity, but the debutants found another answer in stoppage time.
Latifah Nakasi released Nabukenya, who finished past the goalkeeper to complete her brace and secure a memorable victory.
The result gives Kawempe an immediate boost in their pursuit of a semi-final place and leaves the Moroccan holders needing a response.
Kawempe next face Ghana’s Ampem Darkoa on Thursday, 5 November, in a meeting between two teams who won their opening fixtures.
For the Ugandan champions, the debut delivered more than encouragement: it produced a victory over the defending champions and a strong start to their continental campaign.
