Gamphani Lungu, Miguel Chaiwa and Joseph Liteta are included, while Portugal-based forward Chanka Zimba returns to the national team setup.
The provisional group will assemble in Ndola, with overseas-based players expected to join when the international window opens on 9 November. Lwandamina is expected to reduce the squad to 26 players.
Zambia host Burundi at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola on Friday, 13 November, before the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November.
FAZ general secretary Charles Chakatazya confirmed that the home match would remain in Ndola after efforts to relocate it to National Heroes Stadium in Lusaka could not be completed within the approval deadlines.
The double-header offers Zambia an opportunity to strengthen their qualifying position, with the final squad still to be settled.
