Derby Delight In CAF Confederation Cup Draw
The draw for the quarterfinals of the CAF Confederation Cup dished up a derby delight for football fans in Libya. Just a day after celebrating getting two teams into the knockout stage, Libyans will now return to their passionate local rivalry. Al Ittihad versus Al Ahli Tripoli is Libya’s biggest match, and now fans will get to enjoy another installment of this great rivalry.
The CAF Confederation Cup quarterfinals also saw South Africa’s Orlando Pirates paired with Simba SC of Tanzania. The lead-up to this game will be very interesting with both sets of fans being very active on social media.
TP Mazembe will continue the revival with a first-leg trip to Egypt to play Pyramids FC. Pyramids FC is still trying to climb up the ladder of African football after spending a small fortune.
