Hosts For AFCON 2025 and 2027 To Be Announced Simultaneously
Africa’s football community will have to wait a little longer to find out which country will host the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The Confederation of African Football, CAF, has decided to officially announce the hosting country later this year. There’s good news for those interested in the 2027 tournament because CAF will announce the hosting country at the same time.
“CAF will announce the successful Nations that will host the Africa Cup of Nations 2025 and the Africa Cup of Nations 2027 at the same time before September this year,” a statement from CAF disclosed.
The announcement will be done before September, according to the CAF media release. CAF has already postponed revealing the hosts of AFCON 2025 twice from February with the rumour mill going into overdrive as to the delay.
After the withdrawal of Guinea by CAF, it was widely believed either Algeria or Morocco would be given the nod to host the continental football festival. However, the governing body has managed to keep us all in the speculation cage.
