MTN8 Quarterfinal Tickets Go on Sale as 2026/27 Season Begins with High-Stakes Clashes
The road to the first major trophy of the 2026/27 South African football season is officially underway, with tickets for the 2026 MTN8 quarterfinals now available to supporters.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has confirmed that fans can purchase tickets for R100 at Open Tickets outlets nationwide, including Shoprite, Checkers and Usave stores. Supporters can also secure their seats online through Open Tickets.
With four mouth-watering fixtures on the schedule, the MTN8 quarterfinals promise to deliver an early test for some of South Africa’s biggest clubs.
Pirates Begin Trophy Defence Against Durban City
Defending champions Orlando Pirates will open the quarterfinal action on Saturday, 8 August, when they welcome Durban City FC to the Orlando Amstel Arena.
The Buccaneers will kick off at 15:00 as they begin their attempt to retain the trophy they won last season.
Later that evening, Mamelodi Sundowns will take on Polokwane City at Lucas Moripe Stadium, with the two sides meeting at 18:00.
Sundowns will be among the favourites to progress, but Polokwane City will have an opportunity to make an early statement in the new campaign.
AmaZulu and Chiefs Complete Sunday’s Programme
The remaining two quarterfinals take place on Sunday.
AmaZulu FC will host Sekhukhune United at Chatsworth Stadium at 15:00, with both teams targeting a place in the semifinals.
The day’s action will conclude at FNB Stadium, where Kaizer Chiefs face Lamontville Golden Arrows at 18:00.
For Chiefs, the MTN8 represents an early opportunity to put silverware on the table, while Arrows will be determined to spoil the Soweto giants’ ambitions.
