Mamelodi Sundowns coach, Rulani Mokwena has taken a dig at Al Ahly ahead of the African Football League semifinal second leg in Cairo. Mokwena was addressing the media ahead of the blockbuster AFL game and expressed surprise at Al Ahly complaining about the officiating in the first leg.

“I am surprised that Al Ahly are always complaining about refereeing only when they lose,” Mokwena said before quoting Jose Mourinho and going on a detailed account of the decisions he thought went against Sundowns.

The well-spoken Mokwena even mentioned minutes AND seconds in his narrations of how fouls were not sanctioned with yellow cards, starting with Hany’s foul on Thaphelo Maseko at 10 minutes and 43 seconds.

“If there is any team who should be complaining, its Mamelodi Sundowns,” noted Mokwena.

Al Ahly wrote to CAF complaining about the refereeing decisions in the 1-0 defeat at the Loftus Stadium. The winner of this match will be part of the first ever African Football League final.
