Supersport United goalkeeper Ronwen Williams believes his team must use Orlando Pirates’ busy schedule to their advantage. On Wednesday, Orlando Pirates and Supersport United meet in a DSTV Premiership league match. Matsatsantsa A Pitori, as Supersport United is known, had more time to rest with Pirates playing in the CAF Confederation Cup.
“They’ve been involved in many competitions so we need to use that to our advantage. We’ve had an extra day’s rest and we need to use that to our advantage, play them at a very high level,” Williams said ahead of the away trip to Soweto.
Both clubs are looking to climb up the DSTV Premiership log as the season heads into the final stretch. The second spot on the log is still up for grabs, and a win for either side on Wednesday will go a long way in securing a berth in next season’s CAF Champions League. Orlando Pirates are three points ahead of United but have played two games more than their Pretoria-based opponents.
“It’s going to be tough, it’s going to be very tough. They obviously want to climb the ladder but so do we, we shouldn’t give them any respect. We should go out there and try and dominate the game, try and put them under pressure from the word go,” reckons Williams.
