The search for missing Ittihad Tanger players continues at sea

The search continues for two Ittihad Tanger players who went missing at sea continues in earnest. Adellatif Akhrif and Salman El-Harrak are still not accounted for after going for a swimming outing with friends on Saturday.

Emergency services rescued three of the five individuals on the Northern Mediterranean coast. Soumaimane Dahdouh, Abdelhamid Maali, and club employee Oussama Aflah were found after being adrift for several hours. Aflah told local media that everything had been fine until strong winds pushed them away from their boat and the shore.

In conforming the incident and rescue efforts, Ittihad Tanger president, Mohamed Cherkaoui, urged caution on the information being shared on social media. Anass Mrabet, vice president of Ittihad Tanger, confirmed that the party had not been wearing life jackets during the swimming adventure.

Family, friends, and the football world now wait anxiously on news about the missing duo.
