EFA Sets Course for New Season After General Assembly

The Eswatini Football Association (EFA) has reaffirmed its commitment to stronger governance and football development after successfully holding its Ordinary General Assembly in Mbabane on Sunday.

The Assembly, held at the Hilton Garden Inn on 30 August, brought together EFA delegates to review the Association’s work over the past operational year, assess its financial position and set priorities for the period ahead.

Two key items on the agenda were the EFA Activity Report and Financial Report, giving delegates an opportunity to examine the Association’s programmes and financial management.

The reports also provided a platform for members to assess progress made during the previous year and identify areas where greater attention and improvement will be required.

For the EFA, the meeting comes as the Association continues efforts to strengthen the administration and development of football across Eswatini.

Its priorities extend beyond competitions, with the Association placing increasing emphasis on areas such as coaching, refereeing, safeguarding, administration, capacity building and talent development.

The Assembly also highlighted the role of football stakeholders in shaping the direction of the sport. By bringing delegates together to review performance and discuss future priorities, the EFA said it was reinforcing the importance of collective decision-making and accountability within its structures.

As the new operational year begins, the outcomes of the Assembly are expected to guide the Association’s planning, budgeting and implementation of its programmes.

The EFA will also be looking to build on existing initiatives while responding to the changing needs of clubs, players, coaches, referees, administrators and other stakeholders across the country.

The Association’s continued focus on governance comes at a time when football structures across the region are under increasing pressure to operate more professionally and transparently.

For Eswatini, strengthening those structures will be central to creating sustainable pathways for participation and development at all levels of the game.

The successful conclusion of the General Assembly therefore marks more than an annual review. It provides the EFA with a framework for the next phase of its work as it seeks to expand opportunities, improve football administration and develop the game throughout the Kingdom.

The resolutions and priorities emerging from the meeting will now form part of the Association’s roadmap for the new operational year.
