Premium Times reported that Galatasaray had also withdrawn Osimhen from their squad for Saturday’s domestic match against Amed Sportif Faaliyetler.
Nigeria host Tanzania in Uyo on Friday, 13 November, at 18:00 SAST, before the return fixture on Tuesday, 17 November, at 15:00 SAST. The first qualifier comes six days after the scheduled procedure.
Galatasaray’s medical update gave no recovery timetable. Nigeria’s preparations for the two matches now depend on what the club reports after the procedure and whether the striker is cleared to join up with the Super Eagles.
