The Gambia have added two familiar attacking options. Barrow and Minteh missed the opening qualifiers through injury. Coach Johnathan McKinstry told CAF that both were fit to join up with the squad and that the staff would assess their match sharpness in camp.

The teams enter the double-header level on six points. Côte d’Ivoire beat Ghana and Somalia 2–0, while The Gambia defeated Somalia 2–1 before winning 4–2 away to Ghana.

The first meeting takes place in Bouaké on Thursday, 12 November, at 21:00 SAST. The return is scheduled for Bakau on Tuesday, 17 November, at 18:00 SAST.
