Pirates Plot Galaxy Comeback
“We need two goals to win tomorrow and progress. That is what we have to play for,” Jose Riviero says, in simplifying what Orlando Pirates need to do to qualify for the group stage of the CAF Champions League this season.
The 1995 champions trail Jwaneng Galaxy 1-0 from the 1st leg. Many would argue the South African club should be a worse off position. An offside flag kept the scoreline at that 1 nil. Three goals would have been a higher mountain for Riviero and his charges. An early goal would help the cause.
“If I had a plan of how to score an early goal, I would use it for every game. Trust me, nobody knows,” Riviero stressed.
Captain Innocent Maela echoed the same sentiments.
“If we score early in the second half, it’s still fine. We must just score two goals within the ninety minutes so that we go through,” said Maela.
The match is set for a 19:30 kickoff at the Orlando Stadium.
