No Rift In Caps Changing Room
There is no rift in Caps United’s changeroom. The Green Machine had a bad game against Tenax in Mutare but there is no division in the camp. According to the club’s co-captain, Phineas Bhamusi, all reports of a rift within the playing ranks must be treated as untrue.
“I think the alleged reports of divisions in the team are unfounded and unfortunate. We performed badly as a team and we lost as a team. We accepted the defeat as a team and remain united,” Bhamusi explained in the wake of the shock 2-1 defeat.
It was Caps United’s second loss-making trip to Mutare after succumbing to 2-6 to Manica Diamonds a few weeks ago. Takunda Mapara’s winner on Sunday afternoon left Caps United sitting seventh on the log, nine points behind leaders Chicken Inn. Bhamusi believes the players learned valuable lessons from the defeat and will now focus on the future.
“We knew it was going to be a difficult game and we gave it our best, but it was never meant to be our day. We have taken lessons from the defeat and are focused on our upcoming game, hoping to get a positive result,” said Bhamusi.
Bhamusi and his teammates will need to sort the defensive frailties that gifted Tenax both goals on Sunday. The result left coach Lloyd Chitembwe very disappointed with his team’s defence.
