CAF And Cote D’Ivoire Sign Hosting Agreement

CAF and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations host Cote D’Ivoire have signed the hosting agreement for staging the football showpiece in under a year.

The Host Country Agreement was signed in Abidjan by CAF president Patrice Motsepe and the Local Organising Committee. Cote D’Ivoire Prime Minister Patrick Achi and Sports Minister Claude Paulin Danho represented the host country’s government.

Cote D’Ivoire has been on schedule with all preparations so far, and it does not look like the country which fall into the same hole as Guinea, which has been stripped of hosting rights for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.

“Hosting Agreement between CAF and Fédération Ivoirienne de Football (FIF) is a document where CAF designates FIF as the host association to organize the 34th edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations and the Confirmation Agreement between CAF, FIF and the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) where FIF transfers its obligations vis-à-vis CAF to the LOC which in turn assumes the material organization of the competition in Cote d’Ivoire,” read the statement from CAF on the signing of the agreement.

Cote D’Ivoire hosted the Africa Cup of Nations in 1984.
