Kaizer Chiefs have an immediate opportunity to respond to their continental disappointment when they host TS Galaxy in the Carling Knockout round of 16 at FNB Stadium on Tuesday, 27 October.
Kickoff is at 19:00 SAST, with a quarter-final place at stake.
Speaking to the club’s official website, defender Reeve Frosler acknowledged the frustration of Chiefs’ CAF Confederation Cup elimination but said attention had shifted to the domestic competition.
Amakhosi won their continental return leg 1–0 at Moses Mabhida Stadium to level the tie at 1–1, before losing the penalty shootout.
“But now our full focus goes onto the Carling Cup,” Frosler said.
The defender expects a demanding encounter against Galaxy, describing them as difficult opponents in recent meetings. He nevertheless believes the knockout fixture offers Chiefs another opportunity to pursue silverware.
The match also comes before the weekend’s Soweto derby against Orlando Pirates. Frosler said Chiefs would concentrate on Galaxy first, while using Tuesday’s encounter to prepare for Saturday.
For Amakhosi, the immediate task is clear: recover from their African exit and keep their domestic cup campaign alive.
