‘Humble’ Mofokeng makes good first impression at Bafana Bafana training
After his cup-winning exploits over the weekend, Relebohile Mofokeng made a good first impression at his first Bafana Bafana training. The 19-year starlet impressed head coach Hugo Broos who singled out one particular characteristic in Mofokeng.
“A very humble guy, for me. I was very happy to see him yesterday, he had respect for every player,” Broos told journalists at a media briefing.
Mofokeng capped a breakout season by scoring the winning goal in the Nedbank Cup for Orlando Pirates. His light can only shine brighter from here and Broos believes the young man has the brightest of futures.
“He was fantastic, he was fantastic! But he knows there is still a long way to go. I see even in his attitude and I’m very happy with that. You know when you receive like him this season, and with the winning goal on Saturday, yaah he’s nice guy,” beamed Broos who was visibly taken by the young Mofokeng.
Mofokeng might not make the starting eleven for the games against Nigeria or Zimbabwe, but it is clear that he has a believer in Broos.
“I hope that he stays in his head like he is now, the quality is there,” stressed Broos.
