Paulo Duarte takes over Guinea coaching job

Paulo Duarte has taken over the Guinea national team coaching job. The Portuguese mentor has already arrived in Conakry and met with Sports Ministry officials over the weekend.

“The presentation of Mr. Paulo Jorge Rebelo Duarte is scheduled for this Tuesday, August 12, 2025, through a press conference, the place and time of which will be announced shortly. The Executive Committee of the Guinean Football Federation thanks all the candidates who participated in the procedure and wishes the new coach every success in fulfilling his mission,” a statement from the Guinea Football Federation read.

Guinea has been in the process of lloking for a new coach for the Slyi Nation since mid-June. Paulo Duarte’s first assignment will be the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifers against Somalia and Algeria.
