Scottland FC have escaped punishment over the alleged fielding of an ineligible Witbeen Stoffel after the Premier Soccer League Disciplinary Committee dismissed the case on procedural grounds.

The case followed Scottland’s 3-1 Chibuku Super Cup Round of 16 victory over FC Platinum on 14 August, in which the Namibian international was introduced as a late substitute.

Scottland successfully argued that the complaint questioning Stoffel’s eligibility was lodged outside the timeframe prescribed under the 2026 Chibuku Super Cup Rules and Regulations.

The PSL Disciplinary Committee upheld the preliminary objection, bringing the case to an end without considering the substantive eligibility issue.

Importantly, the ruling does not mean Stoffel was declared eligible. The PSL confirmed that the committee made no finding on whether the player was properly registered for the 2026 season because the complaint had been submitted too late.

As a result, Scottland face no sanction, while their 3-1 victory over FC Platinum stands.

The decision removes another off-field distraction for the Zimbabwean champions, who recently appointed Warriors legend Peter Ndlovu as interim coach following Norman Mapeza’s departure.

Ndlovu began his tenure with a 1-0 league victory over CAPS United.

The Stoffel case is therefore closed as far as the Chibuku Super Cup proceedings are concerned — although the underlying question over the player’s eligibility was never determined.
