Sadio Mané and Idrissa Gana Gueye are absent from Senegal’s squad for November’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sudan, as Patrick Vieira continues reshaping the national team.
The selection includes newer faces Pathé Mboup, Pape Demba Diop, Clayton Diandy and Paul Mendy, while Krépin Diatta and Dion Lopy return.
Senegal face Sudan on 12 and 16 November in the next stage of their AFCON 2027 qualifying campaign.
Captain Kalidou Koulibaly remains in the squad, providing experience alongside Moussa Niakhaté. Midfield options include Pape Gueye, Lamine Camara and Pape Matar Sarr.
Nicolas Jackson, Iliman Ndiaye and Boulaye Dia are among the attacking players available to Vieira.
CAF reports that Assane Diao, Abdallah Sima and Ismaïla Sarr are unavailable for medical reasons.
The November fixtures give Senegal an opportunity to strengthen their qualifying position while assessing a squad increasingly shaped by younger players.
Mané and Gueye’s omissions are significant, but do not establish that either player’s international career has ended.
