Sundowns Put Semis Within Reach
Mamelodi Sundowns are on the brink of the CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifier semi-finals after cruising to a 3-0 victory over Malawi’s Silver Strikers in Gaborone on Sunday.
The two-time African champions made it two wins from two in Group B, taking their points tally to six and moving closer to securing a place in the last four.

Dhlamini stars for Sundowns
Karabo Dhlamini was the standout performer, scoring twice in spectacular fashion.
Her first came from around 30 yards before she doubled the advantage with an excellent free-kick. Isabella Ludwig completed the scoring with a second-half header as Sundowns comfortably collected another three points.
The result leaves Sundowns six points clear at the top of the group, while Silver Strikers and Mozambique’s Costa do Sol remain on three points.
Sundowns now need only a draw against Costa do Sol to guarantee their place in the semi-finals.
Costa do Sol keep qualification hopes alive
Costa do Sol boosted their chances with a 3-1 win over Nsingizini Hotspurs, thanks to two goals from Lucia Moçambique and another from Nadia Farranguana.
Lucia Gaonwe scored for the Eswatini debutants, but Hotspurs remain without a point and face a difficult final match.
The top two teams in Group B will advance to the semi-finals.
Group A set for decisive finish
Monday’s action focuses on Group A, where ZESCO Ndola Girls and hosts Gaborone United have already secured semi-final places.
ZESCO and Gaborone United both have six points and meet at 19h00, with the Zambians holding the advantage on goal difference. A draw will be enough for ZESCO to finish top.
The match is a repeat of last year’s regional final, when Gaborone United defeated ZESCO on penalties.
