We Are Going In With Everything – Shalulile
Namibia’s red-hot striker, Peter Shalulile is looking to keep his net-busting streak going and lead Namibia’s Brave Warriors to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast. Shalulile is in a rich vein of form, scoring freely in competitions for club and country.
“Playing AFCON is something that most footballers dream of, the opportunity to test yourself against Africa’s most admired players is not something we take lightly,” Shalulile told NFA media as the team went through a training session.
Namibia are the surprise leaders of Group C which was reduced to three teams following Kenya’s ban from football activities. Burundi and five-time AFCON champions, Cameroon are Namibia’s adversaries in the race to Ivory Coast. The Brave Warriors lead the way with five points, a point ahead of 2017 winners Cameroon, having played the same number of games.
“We are almost there, and we will go in with everything we have,” stressed Shalulile.
A good result in Burundi on the 20th of June will certainly mean that Shalulile will tuck in his national team jersey in front of a global audience. He has already attracted a lot of interest after winning the Leslie Manyathile Award for the top goalscorer in South Africa and being the highest-rated player Sofascore team of the season for the CAF Champions League.
