The Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers are eight points clear at the top of the table and have also booked their place in the Chibuku Super Cup final.

Hardrock reached the final in dramatic fashion, fighting back from 2-0 down with 10 men to draw 2-2 with FC Hunters before winning the semi-final 5-4 on penalties at Chahwanda Stadium. Prince Dube scored twice late on to rescue Kelvin Kaindu’s side.

The comeback continued a remarkable run of resilience. Hardrock had also recovered from two goals down to beat MWOS 3-2 in their previous league encounter, leaving them on 69 points after 32 matches.

They will now face Highlanders in the Chibuku Super Cup final on 28 November at Chahwanda Stadium, after Bosso eliminated CAPS United on penalties in the other semi-final.

For a club playing Division One football only last season, Hardrock are now within touching distance of turning their maiden PSL campaign into one of Zimbabwean football’s most memorable debut seasons.
