History-making Morocco national team coach Walid Regragui has confidently stated that the Atlas Lions will not changed their style of play against France.

Regragui’s charges hold the dream of the Africans and Arabs as they go up against World Cups winners France in the second semifinal of the 2022 FIFA World Cup.

“We will play the way we know how to do it. You can have 70% possession and only shoot once. Possession will make you dream, it’s amazing. And there is these XGs as well. We just want to win. That’s all,” the former Wydad Casablanca coach told media ahead of the historic match.

Morocco players celebrating reaching World Cup semifinals

France stand between Morocco and an unimaginable World Cup final appearance. Regragui was appointed to the head coaching job less than three months before the start of the tournament, and not even the most patriotic of Morocco would have thought they would be preparing for a Semifinal encounter against the defending champions.

The Royal Morocco FA has pulled out all the stops ensuring that the team is well catered for while in Qatar. Family members staying with players in the same hotel has turned out to be a master stroke.

“We represent Morocco. We have an image to send out internationally, our culture, the way we are with our parents, wives and so on. If it is positive, then that’s good. But we want to represent our football above all,” stressed Regragui.
