Mamelodi Sundowns to take care of Ethiopian star battling career-threatening injury.
Mamelodi Sundowns will take care of their Ethiopian star who is battling what could be a career-ending injury. According to head coach, Rulani Mokwena, Nasir Aboubakar will get support from the club.
“Nasir, the club will make an announcement, but he has a very difficult injury, very complicated injury, sustained in the Pirates game in the duel against Mpontshane and he hasn’t recovered,” Mokwena announced after the league game against Orlando Pirates at Loftus.
There had been speculation that Nasir was to be sidelined to make space for another foreign signing. Mokwena refused to comment on the Ethiopian being deregistered by Mamelodi Sundowns.
“He’s struggling to recover, which is a bit unfortunate, you know when you use the term career-threatening? That type of situation with Nasir is really career-threatening and he needs all the support we can give him,” explained Mokwena.
The DSTV Premiership log leaders will support the speedy striker who now finds himself in a very unfortunate situation early in his blossoming career at Mamelodi Sundowns.
“He’s at a good club that looks after its players, and so he’s in the right place and hopefully we will see him back sooner rather than later,” a hopeful Mokwena stressed.
